Machine Gun Kelly's New Album Goes Number 1

"waited my entire career to repost this."

Machine Gun Kelly's foray into Pop Punk netted him the Number One spot on the Billboard 200 for the first time in his career

MGK stated on twitter:

Machine Gun Kelly's September 25th release of Tickets To My Downfall was a huge change in the musicians style, a dramatic mature leap forward as he blends his rap and hiphop roots with pop punk rhythm and melody. MGK seamlessly trades vocal hooks with rap, showing he's not quite ready to let go, and maybe he never will. But this new direction puts MGK in a whole new tier.

Be prepared to see vast amounts of change surrounding this album. Tickets To My Downfall stands alone as the only rock album the musician has made. Listening to the album, and seeing where his career path has been leading, one can understand where this album comes from, and it is a refreshing new look, putting new aspects of Machine Gun Kelly's life into perspective.

Songs such as Kiss Kiss, Drunk Face, and Bloody Valentine kick of the album, real pop punk bangers hearkening back to a classic late 90's sound. You could almost envision these songs being played on the main stage at Warped Tour. Actually, I could say the same for the rest of the album. From end to end, the album keeps your attention while providing a certain level of nostalgia that is inescapable. MGK managed to conjure an emotional pop punk ballad, Forget Me Too, featuring fan favorite Halsey. Upon listening, it is no secret why the album charted so well. Produced by Travis Barker (Blink-182), who also features on a number of the tracks, ensured Tickets To My Downfall sounded exactly the way it needed to sound to capture a moment in time that refreshes a special era and brings it back into the mainstream eye.

Congratulations to Machine Gun Kelly for the honor so few get to achieve!
