Corey Taylor ROCKED LA Forum today in a paid livestream event
This event was the first time his solo band has played live together, featuring guitarists Christian Martucci, and Zach Throne, drummer Dustin Robert, and bassist Jason Christopher.
The show was huge. Pyrotechnics, smoke shows, and lighting that perfectly blended into the atmosphere of this multi-genre spectacle.
Prepare to hear vocals from a Corey Taylor you have never known. A brand new, almost happy Corey Taylor. Which feels like a refreshing new era from the talented Showman. A mature foray into hard rock, classical heavy metal, somber balladiering, and huge bombastic production.
Before the show, we were treated to a lovely pre-show with the band in the tuning room, running through some of their songs (in edited footage. Cmon, they dont want to spoil the show before it starts!) which gave us a chance to see the band in their natural state. Loosey-goosey, humourous, but the music was tight, the band seem to gel really very well.
There were interviews conducted by www.knotfest.com's Beez, featuring interviews with Corey's wife, The band's management, and more!
The show starts in your face. the band comes in with a trainwreck. A guitar flurry not unlike early Van Halen. Seamlessly the intro blends into Corey Taylor playing light country-flecked guitar strums, and we are off into the first song, HWY 666. A raucous bluesy guitar driven song, it is a lot of fun to listen to, sure to get you moving in your seat.
The whole setlist is peppered with classic rock-y songs, blues-y songs, radio friendly ballads, and a nod to a favorite, Eddie Money. This band showed today that they are a huge sound not to be messed with. Great performance. fantastic mixing, the entire band was on fire.
A beautiful display of talent and a new found direction in music, this will capture your imagination. It's a rock show. It's loud, in your face, at times a moving emotional thrillride. I highly recommend it if you are a Corey Taylor fan. Pick Up CMFT today, itll blow your mind.
